OUR MISSION STATEMENT
MEFIS offers a stimulating education program that strives to meet the individual learning needs of its students. The school provides equality in opportunities, so that each child is guided to discover and develop intellectual, creative, social and physical potentials. In doing so, the school endeavours to empower its students with a life-long passion for learning. Students are encouraged to become confident, balanced and socially responsible individuals who will contribute positively to local and global communities.

PRIMARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL WELCOME
It is my pleasure to extend to you a warm welcome to MEF International Primary School - Istanbul, Turkey. Our school is eight years old and we provide a high quality education, resources, and facilities for students from Preschool to Grade 5. Our curriculum and resources aim to bring about equality of opportunity in all fields for our students as they move into a changing and challenging global environment. Programmes of learning pave each student firmly in the centre of all educational endeavors and are aimed towards the achievement of the International Baccalaureate Student Learner Profile.

Our school learning programmes operate within the International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Programme (PYP) guidelines and a culture that combines a positive, caring, supportive learning environment with a climate of quality expectations and self accountability. The school recognises the special qualities and needs of each student as an individual, and in partnership with parents and students, we seek to provide a programme to enhance and extend understanding, skills and attitudes. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to develop their intellect, creativity, independence and sense of responsibility.

We value greatly the unique opportunities that living in Istanbul and Turkey provide. We also value the positive and special relationships that develop in our school with students from 25 nationalities including local Turkish students. An important goal of the school is to promote in each student an identity that confirms their own cultural values, while recognising and appreciating the diverse values of our multi-cultural community.
