INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL-ISTANBUL-2005/2006
FOREIGN-HIRE (Outside Turkey) CONTRACTUAL ITEMS:
We would like to tell you a few things
about salary and benefits, which may determine
whether or not you would like to pursue your
application any further, as per below:
1.
The starting salary is from $19,800 to $27,000
USD (dependent on years of experience and if
a candidate holds a recognized higher degree).
It is all in USD and is tax-free (Turkish).
Salary is paid 12 times a year (on the 11th
of each month, and the first pay is received
in September).
2.
Accommodation is provided. 2 possible choices:
A. The units are small studio
or one-bedroom furnished apartments, located
in a complex beside the school. Furnishings
include a television and a dishwasher. Teachers
are responsible for utilities and maintenance
fees. There is an outdoor pool at the apartment
complex. Some of the units have balconies; some
do not. The single teacher units range from
38 – 55 square meters in size; the units for
couples from 60 – 82 square meters. Many of
the units are dark due to most being on lower
floors, and being close to other buildings in
the complex.
B. There is another complex
(2 buildings) on the Asian side, about 45-60
minutes from the school. These flats are suitable
for families – they are 2 or 3 bedroom flats,
very spacious. However, the location is not
in central Istanbul; It is a suburb. There is
a service bus for teachers to the school and
home each day. All utilities and maintenance
is paid by the teachers, but the flats are of
course rent-free (the same as with the flats
beside the school). There is an outdoor pool.
3.
Airfare is in/out at start/end of contract (Istanbul-home
of record).
4.
Baggage allowance is $400 USD at start/end of
contract.
5.
Health/Medical insurance.
6.
Lunches on campus (working days).
7.
Turkish lessons provided at school.
8.
Use of indoor pool and tennis courts on-site
on weekends and in evenings.
Please note that new teachers must be in Istanbul
